About
In 1995, Marshall Kauffman opened KING’s Gym in Reading, Pennsylvania as a way to get youngsters off the streets and involved in more positive activities. The name “KING” stands for “Kids In Need of Guidance”, and Marshall has spent years using the sport of boxing as a way for both his professional and amateur boxers to feel good about themselves – a way for them to gain confidence and pride in themselves.

Marshall Kauffman
Kauffman is passionate about boxing and has gained the respect of people in the boxing world for his skills as a trainer. He worked as a coach with the 2004 PAL National Team and has worked with and assisted such boxers as the late super middleweight champ Steve Little, Bobby Heath, Yusaf Mack, Rock Allen, Rob Calloway, Tarvis Simms, Bernard Hopkins, and the late Julian Letterlough. He took welterweight Kermit Cintron from beginning amateur to a world title shot and is currently working with former heavyweight champ Hasim Rahman. In addition to the many young amateurs he helps train along with his able staff, he is currently guiding the careers of several young professional prospects including that of Keenan Collins and his son Travis Kauffman, the former number one ranked super heavyweight amateur in the country.
KING’s Promotions was formed in 1994 and has since put on many successful amateur and professional fight cards in the mid-Atlantic region. In 2005, local businessman Jeff Nigrelli joined Marshall as a partner in KING’s Promotions. They have since put on several sold-out fight cards at the Riveredge Complex in Reading and have recently expanded to boxing events at the spacious and modern Sovereign Center in downtown Reading, Pennsylvania.
KING’s Promotions will be looking to sign other young and talented fighters to build their roster and compete on the highest levels of the boxing world.
