Joshua Davis knocksout Carlos Rosario in a fight of the year candidate.
Joshua Davis took on Carlos Rosario who was coming off an impressive knockout victory at Sugarhouse Casino in Philadelphia. Rosario started out the fight the more aggressive fighter but Davis was patient and effective with his counter shots. The 2nd round Davis started off the aggressor and landed a series of shots on Rosario evening the score card 1 round a piece.
The 3rd round saw Rosario come out and put the pressure on Davis who was patiently waiting for an opportunity to land, then BOOM,”Dynamite” lands a hard left hand putting Davis on the canvas with 1:25 left in the round. Rosario was shaken but managed to survive the round. Rosario seemed to shake the cob webs and was back on the attack in the 4th but his eyes were starting to swell which could prove to be trouble.
Now onto the 5th round where Rosario seemed to get into a nice groove and dominated the round. He picked Davis apart at while and didn’t take many hits in return. By now the crowd is in a frenzy a pro Rosario crowd got behind their fighter and have been having verbal matches outside the ring with fans of Davis. The 6th round both fighters seemed to slow down but Rosario had the edge then BOOM “Dynamite” explodes again with a left right combo putting Rosario on the canvas for the 2nd time in the fight. Davis beat the count and was saved by the bell. Davis seen Rosario was still hurt at the start at the 7th and jumped on Rosario. The referee stopped the fight giving “Dynamite” the TKO victory in a fight of the year candidate.
Antowyan Aikens outpoints Amir Shabazz
Anotowyan Aikens beat undefeated Amir Shabazz by unanimous deciosion to improve to 11-3-1. The fighters exchanged words when it was time to touch gloves but Aikens had the final word with victory.
Thomas Velasquez rolls over Brandon Sanudo
Thomas Velasquez improved to 9-0 with dominate performance of Brandon Sanudo. Velasquez landed body shot after body shot that took the fight out of Sanudo. Velasquez, who is one of Danny Garcia’s fighters, is off to an impressive start too his career and his a bright future in the sport. All 3 judges had winning 6 rounds to none and judge scored a 10-8 round even tho Sanudo never went down. But the Velasquez’s dominance was earned the extra point. Final scores were 60-53 // 60-54 // 60-.
Tyrone Crawley fight a close but one sided fight Juan Rodriguez
Tyrone Crawley returned to the ring for the 1st time after breaking his hand in the ring. Juan Rodriguez is no easy match up but Crawley was able to outbox the rugid Rodriguez. The fight seemed close but Crawley had the edge in majority of the rounds winning by unanimous decision 59-55 // 59-55 // 60-54. Rodriguez kept walking forward while Crawley used his movement to land shots from different angle. Rodriguez had his moments but in the end it was Crawley’s night. Ty did inform us after the fight that he reinjured his hand in the fight and will have it evaluated.
Steven Ortiz knocks out Hector Rivera in 2
Steven Ortiz wasted no time getting to work against Hector Rivera. Ortiz landed shot after shot in the opening round and put Rivera on the canvas at the end of the round. It was more of the same in the 2nd as Ortiz worked an effective jab and landed a big left hook and devastating body shots. A right left combo put Rivera on the mat again and the fight was stopped in the 2nd.
Gerardo Martinez scores a 1st round KO in his pro debut
Gerarado Martinez started off his career with a 1st round knockout over Titos Gosalves. Martinez, from Phoenixville Pa is looking to make a quick return to the ring.
Vincent Floyd earns a knockout victory
Vincent Floyd improved his record to 3-2-1 with a knockout win over Rafael Montalvo. Montalvo seemed to have the edge but then Floyd put him on the canvas to win by TKO.
Demetris Williams gets his 1st pro victory
Demetris Allen walked out of the ring with a W for the 1st time in his pro career. Williams who took his 1st 2 pro fights on short notice which both ended in victory. He immediately seen the benefit of a good training camp and outpoined Antonio Allen. He scored power shot after power shot on Allen who for whatever reason, kept his hands down by his waist leaving an easy target on his tall body.
